Value creation
is the foundation
we built the entire firm around.

We’ve distilled four decades of government contracting into a framework for federal go-to-market. These four principles drive how we partner with you and move opportunities forward.

Partnerships that build pipeline

We're more than a network. We help you build and sustain a pipeline of qualified government opportunities, with warm introductions to the people who make decisions.

Built for the long-term partnership

We help you align your roadmap with real opportunities that last beyond a single administration.

Beyond introductions

We have relationships across more than 70 federal agencies. We connect you with the right people to turn your innovation into a funded contract – and we stay by your side every step of the way.

Day-one investors

We want in on your first institutional round, and you don't need federal traction to get our attention. We write the check early and stay in the room with you, from your first dollar to your largest federal award.

We invest in startups on the verge of becoming
dual-use: commercial businesses whose
technology hasn’t yet reached the
federal market.

Commercial
Government

The intersection offers the greatest opportunity for scale, and where we accelerate government go-to-market.

Most great companies stall in the gap between a working product and a contract.

Together with Jefferson Solutions Group, we pair early capital with decades of contracting experience for every startup we back.

What founders should know.

On the practical side, here's what we'd want you to know before reaching out: the
checks we write, what we look for, and how the process runs.

What we back

We back founders building software, or software-defined hardware. You don't have to be a government company yet. We look for conviction that your product is dual-use and a readiness to treat government as a second market.

What we're drawn to

We're drawn to AI-native and automation tools that make government work faster and cheaper. We especially like places where our relationships, procurement experience, and contract pathways can change where you end up.

How it works

A short form, then a four-to-six-week review, a 45-minute call, a deep dive with our whole team, and a conversation on terms before a term sheet. We leave room each week to move as fast as your process needs.

Geography

We invest in early-stage companies headquartered in the United States. We're willing to consider other geographies, but we focus our energy in the US.

Check size

We invest at seed, in rounds of $10M or less. Our checks run up to $300K, and we like to be your first check in.

Where we pass

  • Companies with no realistic path to federal revenue.
  • Teams already deep in govcon. You don't need us to get in.
  • Capital-intensive hardware whose road to revenue runs past our stage.
  • Pure state-and-local govtech. Our focus is federal.
  • Foreign-founded or foreign-domiciled companies.

Referrals

If you're a VC firm, you can refer a portfolio company for federal go-to-market support. Send them our way, no relationship with us required.

What we look for in founders

Earned, Not Borrowed

We back founders building on a truth most people don’t yet believe.

We don’t care which school you attended or whose network you belong to. We care that you’ve seen something the market hasn’t — an insight you earned by living the problem — and that you have the conviction to build on it before it’s obvious.

Start With the Customer

We back founders who work backward from the customer — and keep their trust.

The best builders obsess over the person they’re building for, not the pitch they’re building toward. They decide backward from real need, ship what solves the problem, and treat trust as the asset that compounds. They watch competitors without chasing them.

Build the Category, Not the First Win

We back founders who see the whole category, not just the first contract.

A first contract, a first customer, a first round — these are starting lines, not finish lines. The founders who matter look around corners at where the market is going and build to own it, not just to enter it. The question isn’t only whether the team is A-plus; it’s whether they can take the market and hold it.

Build to Last

We back founders who create durable value by strengthening systems, not extracting from them.

The companies worth building outlast their first success. That means thinking past the quick win to the second and third act, and being honest about the responsibility that comes with scale. We’re not here for a one-time return, and neither are the founders we back.
